It began back in 2008 with a New Year's party in Portland thrown by Joshua Keroes, Jeremy Lightsmith, and Karissa Lightsmith. Champagne flowed, Solomon Douglas and Pete Peterson performed, and people danced their asses off.

Roses floated around the room in a tradition that became the stuff of legend. It was an event of intimacy, community, vulnerability, connecting with new friends and reconnecting with old ones. It proved to be the perfect way to usher in the new year.
Champagne & Roses was born.
Since then, Seattle and Portland have playfully taken turns throwing the best New Year's party possible. While Champagne & Roses persisted as Portland's namesake, Seattle struggled to find its own identity until Andrew & Jared hosted Champagne & Emeralds 2016.

The More You Know
The More You Know
The sole purpose of Champagne & Emeralds is to provide a space for our community to gather and have an amazing time saying goodbye to the 2018 and welcoming 2019.
It is four nights of revelry in many forms: dancing, hanging with friends, sharing food and drink, and reflecting upon the past, present, and future. You can look forward to DJs and live music playing blues, fusion, lindy hop, folk, funk, soul, or whatever else gets people to cut loose on the dance floor. An open bar and delicious late night food served on nights of dancing will help keep you grooving all night long.
Champagne & Emeralds is not just about the dancing, it's about the people. It is a time for our community to congregate, to celebrate life, to support one another, to form new bonds and strengthen existing ones, to tighten the net, to cherish this wonderful community to which we all belong. It is a time a space to be present with your life, to respect what came before and set intentions for what comes next.
